why do u do it
  • so why are u playing rs ?

is it because u dont have a social life (or is that only for me jk)

    or

dont u got anything beter to do after school /work,whatever

    anyways let me know image/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

at first i played rs because yes i did not have a social life at all

then i got into a depression and runescape helped me to escape from the real world

then i played because i made some good friends thanks to runescape (not irl tho) and had some goals in rs

and after that i just got bored and well kinda quited

now i sometimes try to start playing again but it aint getting me addicted again and i play again to get a bit more in contact again with these friends i made on rs :)cause they are still awesome imagehttp://runeology.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

  • I started 'cause a lot of IRL friends did, most quit years ago, but I enjoyed it and it's a good way to have fun. :P
  • I started because I liked playing games, and I heard about RS through some IRL friends (most quit). I made really good friends in-game via "castle parties". They were just hang outs where a bunch of people would gather on a castle rooftop and chat. I wasn't big into skill and combat (probably stopped training combat when I hit 70/80 cmb) until I hit members. Even then, I wasn't huge into skills and combat. Just did a bunch of minigames (cough).

Once Breezeh got banned and I move onto my main account now, I really got into skills and training, especially once I got extremelyyyy lucky with a certain clue drop which pretty much made me able to buy necessary items to train. ^^

As of today, it's pretty much a mix of training skills and being friends with loads of people.
  • Pirate found it... got me addicted... now I've passed him in skills and combat... but then again, he didn't have as much time to play as I do, so that is why. We are old, we have no lives, but it's ok, it's this or TV... RS > TV anyday!
  • I like achieving things and gaining each level gives me something to aim for in the week. I wish I was more focussed on my real life activities, but life's harder - which brings me to my second reason - escapism!

i started because my brother showed it to me, he stopped playing, i continued... i don't play anymore, but i still like the people, which is why im still lingering. it was always something to do, something that was enjoyable, take your mind off of the stress.
  • i aws once of the miniclipers, way back when jagex first put rs on miniclip, looked interesting. played it, got addicted for a while. mostly i just went around and did random things, not reallly focusing on anything (not even quests at the time!) ended up getting members at level 30 (training in the lumby goblin house! woop!)
forced to quit once though for 6 months (computer decided to die, came back unaddicted. slowly started playing less and less as time went on. slowly starting to play then stopping every now and then. got more active before the begining of the bot wars which we all know went on for a rather long time. ended up getting modded towards the ending of it all. now almost 2 years after that. here i am, practically have quit but i still come on to do updates etc. one day i may end up playing again (probably new skill)
but yeah, the reason i did play was because i liked the game, i liked the friends. and if i didnt join charles first clan way back when, i think things would be so much different for me right now.
  • I was bored and playing online java and flash games during my c++ class back in 2001 and stumbled upon this new idea of a java game where other people were actually playing WITH you and you could talk to them. Thought it was pretty neat and played it ever since during my spare time. I don't get a chance to play much anymore other than my days off when I'm not too hungover from the night before.
  • Ima miniclipper too D: I remember getting badmouthed by 2 red levels talking about how many lvl 3's there were.. I almost quit too, but friend hooked me up with members and that kept me going.

hmm.. I guess I play it as an escape and to be with friends =P
