    Introduction

Seeing as this is a fairly new addition to the world of runescape, and a large one at that, alot of new monsters came into the game. ive been seeing that some people have had a slight bit of an issue with some of the bosses, so here i am hoping to shed some light on the situation and hope for everyone to become dungeoneering masters eventually image/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    [anchor]1[/anchor]Gluttenous Behemoth

Quite possibly the first boss everyone faces, and could also be impossible if circumstances are not in your favour (e.g you die during it, no food to continue the fight as he will heal himself when your not there). anyway, the best strategy i found for him is to stab him, so a spear or longsword or rapier works well here. its very important to stand between him and his food, otherwise when he his half health he WILL heal to full, and once he starts muching you cant stop him. Best armour to take is melee armour, obviuosly the higher tier the better. the best prayer to pray is pray mage, as your melee armour will help defend agaisnt his range and melee attacks. just remember to stand between him and his food and you should be alright

    [anchor]2[/anchor]Astea Frostweb

Aseta is a reltivily simple fight, if you come prepared. however if you dont then it can be really annoying. astea is a mage, so you would probably think the best gear to bring is range. to an extent, your right, however she also has a protection prayer up constantly. however it is NOT relevent to which style your using (so just because your using range, it wont suddenly swap to range, though it might). so, you need to bring at least 2 attack styles, i reccomend melee and range, with ranged armour equiped. her attacks consist of barraging you, (for much smaller damage then a normal barrage) the damage can be negated with the protect from magic prayer however she still will have a chance to freeze you. She can summon ice spiders to help fight for her. on the higher team dungeons these can get reltivily hard, but with smaller teams there more of a nusence. Her final attack consists of summoning these small green tenticles at your feet and rushing them upawrds, these cause massive damage but i believe they can be avoided (provided your not frozen), i also dont think that protection prayers work agaisnt this attack. so as long as you bring the 2 attack styles you should be fine with this fight.

    [anchor]3[/anchor]icy bones

icy bones is probably one of the easiest bosses with smaller teams. Best to bring full melee armour and protect from melee, although his main attack WILL hit though for rpayer (similar to how praying mage will only help agaisnt some dragonfire)Its best to stab or crush him, so spears, rapiers, battleaxes or mauls will work well here. he has 2 other attacks also, one which freezes you for about 5 seconds and another which he summons stalagmites around him, making it impossible to get to him if your on the outside of them. im not sure if either of these do damage, so any extra info there will be great.

    [anchor]4[/anchor]Luminecent Icefiend

Ahh good old lumy. the first boss where people start to have some issues. Now the best equipment for lumy is full melee gear. stab and crush work well on him so spears and mauls are preferred. He has 2 main attacks, a range attack where he fires his arm at you and a mage attack where he smashes the ground and sends an ice ball at you, because of the preferred armour its best to pray mage thoughout the fight. now when he gets 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and red barred (1hp away from death) he will become invinceable and send stalagmites from the celing to hit you. now to avoid these you MUST run around, prefrebly not backtracking (try to run in a big square) this lasts for about 5 seconds, then it resumes as normal. note that the falling icicles WILL NOT KILL YOU. they only reduce your hp to 1, so dont extremly panic if you get caught in the icicles, also dont give up if you do! its still possible to get out

    [anchor]5[/anchor]Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz

freezer is a relitivly simple fight, more annoying then hard, he is weakest to melee, all styles. so which ever stlye your weapon is best at, use it. not sure what attack style he uses, seems to be a mix of all 3 styles, i say best to bring melee gear and piety really, as protection prayers dont seem to do much. now what makes this boss interseting is the fact that he is on ice, meaning that it may be hard to get close to him to melee him, however if you do knock into him you will stop, so use that to your advantage. however when your in melee distence he likes to push you away with his own melee attack, which is what makes this boss annoying. you could use range, but its ineffective i find. not much else to say about this boss, just stock up and youll be fine.

    [anchor]6[/anchor]To'kash the Bloodchiller

    img src="http://www.runescapetop.com/up/images/8f32f.png" border="0" />

To'kash is a demon, and as such is weak to magic, however for melee he is also rather weak to crush (like most ice beings). he uses a few attacks, his standard attacks consist of a mage attack and a melee attack (fairly simple) however he will occasionally say "sleep now, in the bitter cold. DEEP FREEZE", this will incase you in a cube of ice, and all you will be able to do is eat. now solo you cant do anything and he will hit a bit extra on you with his melee attack when frozen. Duo or more however, one person will be freed, and they then can in turn free the other members of the party to stop them from taking extra damage. when he shouts out "i will shatter your soul!" any person still trapped in ice will take damage. its a simple fight really, just keep health high and keep on his weakness, and he should fall eventually

    [anchor]7[/anchor]Skeletal hoard

An interetsing boss as it isnt just 1 monster. in the room you will see a divine skinweaver, this thing will be very helpful to you. now as you enter skeletons will start coming out of the wall (all 3 stlyes, melee mage and range). really i find it best to go i full melee armour, and pray either mage or range, whichever type of skele is out the most. and focus on killing the other style your not protecting agaisnt. every aprox 5 kills, the skinweaver will say that the tunnel has weakened, this is your cue to block one of the 5 tunnels. rinse and repeat untill all tunnels are blocked. if you find yourself getting low on health, run to the pads next to the skinweaver, she will then heal you insane ammounts. a simple fight really, again as usual just stay stocked with lots of food and melee armour. skeles are weak to crush mostly (or mage but not the best thing to use here)

    [anchor]8[/anchor]Hobgoblin Geomancer

The hobgoblin geomancer is one of the easier med level bosses. If your planning to melee, take stab attack weapons, if your ranging, that can work well also. His main attack is a multi target earth blast, which can hit fairly high so be careful of that. If your meleeing he also likes to snare you and teleport to another part of the room, making it slgihtly annoying. also if your praying, he has an attack that can disable prayer and heal him also, so be mindful about that. he also will bonk you with his staff, providing your in range. thats it for this guy

    [anchor]9[/anchor]Balwark Beast

One of the more annoying bosses on the abandoned floors. he has a strong armour which can only be harmed by pickaxes, which you must destory before you can actually harm him (mage does bypass his armour, but its very ineffective) after his armour has been destroyed, its best to use stab attacks. he uses 4 attacks, from all 3 areas of the triangle (a melee attack, 2 multi target range attacks (one does damage his armour) and a multi target magic attack). also, dont stand underneith him, else you will take massive damage from a 5th stomp attack. i believe he drains praye also, but im not sure which attack does this. or if he actually does at all. just keep on him and you will kill him

    [anchor]10[/anchor]Unholy cursebearer

a simple fight mostly, but can turn hard quickly if your unlucky with hits. he is a mage, and weakest to stab or slash. as you walk in your stats will start to drain at an insane rate (you will also take damage when their drained). after a while you will get a message saying you can restore your stats at the unholy font. this will increse your stats to full, but heal the boss slightly. so use only when you truely need to. he has 2 attacks, a melee attack, and a multi target mage attack. best to protect mage and just melee him i reckon

    [anchor]11[/anchor]Rammernaut

Rammernaut is a big dude with a big mace. he is weakest to stab and mage (mage is VERY effective, however because he melees you will have no defence agaisnt his attacks if you decide to wear mage robes. he has a standarded melee attack, an attack where he will spin in a circle with his mace, possably knocking you back and stunning you 100% of the time and after this attack he will use a special attack which will lower your defence and disable your prayer for about 5-10 seconds. he also has another special attack where he will charge in your direction, shout "CHARGEEEEE" and will cause massive damage if he hits you. this is avoidable, but im not 100% sure how to. still be sure to stock on food, as he hits very high very often. on a last note, be sure NOT to protect melee, he becomes much more agressive and is more likely to use his charge attack

    [anchor]12[/anchor]Stomp

More annoying then hard. Stomp doesnt move, which is the important factor for that really. he has a mage attack and a range attac (not 100% sure if he has a melee attack). any attack stlyes work really. Now when stomp is at 2/3, 1/3 and redbarred, he becomes invinceable. you will notice that rocks will fall from the celing, 2 power crystals will also drop and the lodestones next to him will be coloured, its your job to get these power crystals to these lodestones however this could be made impossible in some cases as the rocks will block the path. a way around this is to stand under the rocks, this will make you take damage but will stop the rock from falling. if you dont get the crysals to the lodestones intime, he will heal. also note that his range attack will destroy the rocks.

    [anchor]13[/anchor]Har'lak the Riftsplitter

Har'lak, again like all demons, are weak to mage. for melee this one is also weak to stab. he has 2 main attacks, a standard melee attack and a mage attack which, if praying mage, will drain your prayer every time he casts it (so for this fight, its best to stick to piety) he also has the ability to summon 3 types of portals which will hinder you in some way. a flame portal, which will peridoicly damage you when your standing in it. a miasma portal which will poison you if you stand in it, and the poison will get stronger the more you stand inside it (i beleive the max is 900 damage) so be sure to bring antis! and finally a stat reducing portal. its a simple fight, you just have to pay attention to when he summons the portals and get ready to move.

    [anchor]14[/anchor]Lexicus Runewright

The liberomancer. One of the more annoying bosses. He is a mage, and in this case it is much better to range him, as he has a perminant vengance effect that will deflect melee damage back at you. he has 3 main attacks, a mage attack, a melee attack, and a special attack called "book barrage". if he shouts this out, be prepared to run a few steps away, as exploding books will appear and cause massive damage if you are hit by them. he also has the ability to summon books from all 3 areas of the combat triangle to help him, each book has 10hp, so they are easy to kill, but can become annoying very easily. he also binds you and teleports around the room. as i said range works best here, with protect from mage prayer.

    [anchor]15[/anchor]Sagittare

An interesting boss really. he is a ranger who can also use magic arrows to keep you thinking. all of his attacks are multi target. he also has a perminant protect range prayer. one of the first things youll notice is the shape of the room, a spiral, this will be annoying eventually but you have to live with it. i find slash works best, with protect mage prayer. he has a special attack which can stop you from running for a short time (but you can still walk). after youve been meleeing him for a while, he will teleport and use another speical attack, arrow rain. this will shower arrows in the immedient area your standing on, and cause some damage if your caught in it. however its possible to escape it. not much to say really, i find him fairly simple, just keep whacking him and he will fall.

    [anchor]16[/anchor]Night-gazer Khighorahk

My persoal favourate boss. As all stakers are, he is weakest to stab. He has 4 attacks, but uses them at certain times. his mian attacks are a standard mage attack, and a VERY powerful melee attack which is avoidable. you will know when he is about to use his melee attack as he will glow blue, rise up to the air and slam down again. as long as your not standing next to him, you wont take damage. another attack is that he will spin around rather randomly, this will drain your run energy. now you will notice in each corner how the room, there are 4 pillars of light. before you can do ANY damage to him, at least ONE must be lit, with solo i recommend focusing on keeping 2 lit up. so keep hitting him with protect mage up, while keeping the pillars lit (you do not need a tinderbox or logs for this). now when you depleat his health bar, the fight isnt quite finished yet. the pillars of light become lit up (all 4) and his combat level will lower. he will also start using another attack where he will scream at you, possably stunning you (not good when your in melee range). this second stage is alot simpler as you just have to worry about avoiding his stomp attack

    [anchor]17[/anchor] Shadow-forger Ihlakhizan

again, another stalker boss, so stab is the best attack style to use agaisnt this. i believe he uses melee and mage attacks, so its best to approach with melee armour and protect mage. he also has a form of eurtpion attack where he shoots out green goo which will damage you a bit, but i dont think this is avoidable. he has another special attack, where he will start to glow, very shortly he will burst out a bright light, this will drop your stats by an insane ammount, to avoid this you have to hide behind a pillar (ther are 4 pillars in the center of the room). really its a simple boss, its just being quick enough to hide.

    [anchor]18[/anchor]Bal'lak the Pummeller

like most demons, once again bal'lak is weak to mage. he also seems fairly week to stab. he has 2 attacks and 1 special attack. his first attack is a simple melee attack, his 2nd attack is a mage attack where he casts a few spells at one person very quickly (i dont believe this can be protected agaisnt). his special attack is where he will melee you with both of his weapons and this will disable your protection prayers for a short time, however this only applies to protection prayers so piety etc will still work. now for the stategy, as you walk in you will notive a bar at the top of the screen displaying the demons defence, over time this bar will rise. you will also notice ocsionally pools of green goo will scatter around the room. to lower the demons defence bar you have to lure him onto these green spots. be careful though, as if your standing 1 space away from them they will damage you. its a fairly simple fight, ballak just might get lucky a few times keep up the luring and youll take him down soon

wow this is massive, i don't know half of what is being explained, but it was one of the more entertaining guides, it reads more story-like and less dry information. a few spelling errors, but we can get at what you are trying to say, i think. for others who are looking to contribute to the guide it seems like there were a few areas that needed some help: damage dealt by icy bones attacks, what attack style plane-freezer uses, does the balwark beast drain prayer, and how to avoid the rammernaut charge. also noticed briefly this guide was created a year ago, just have to say that was most impressive
  • nice! Excellent!

    Pics? ;-)
  • Great guide, Gary! :D Very useful...
  • I want credit for giving you the idea! And thank you very much, it's exactly what I needed ;)
  • yeah sorry dave that was more of a typo haha, was made yesterday :\ ahh well. done ish :P cheers everyone! <3
  • I'll bring an orb of oc and take some screens next time for ya gary =P

One way to do icefiend is range while standing on the wall, then [b]walking[/b] up to the opposite wall after the winged things fly up. Might be helpful if you have lotsa people (3+) and dont want to run into one another
  • I did tokash dude today.. he is not weak to mage... couldn't even his his (_|_) but he was easy anyway
  • edited to add bal'lak!
  • [url="http://www.runeology.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1949#16"]Night-gazer khighorahk[/url] Range it!! Works great. you avoid the stomp attack, and never have to leave the beacon. One thing I wonder... Do you do more damage with more lamps lit?
  • yea ishyz, and ranging is easier, but prom spear + piety + melee pot speeds the battle up more
  • Not if you die doing it lol
  • awesome boss guide sieg <3 you
