    Introduction

This guide will teach you the best way to get charms to level summoning as well as a hefty dose of magic and hitpoints experience. Your goal will be to ice burst rock lobsters to kill them.

    Rock Lobster Information

Rock lobster are a lot like rock crabs, they are simply appear as "A rock" until you get near enough to them and they will come out and attack you.
Rock lobsters can only be found in the farthest reaches of Waterbirth Dungeon.
    Level: 127
    Hitpoints: 150
Their max hit is 15 and they attack at a rapid pace.
Examine: It wasn't a rock... it was a rock lobster!
Worthwhile drops(pick these up): Charms (2 at a time), Uncut gems(only pick up if you have inventory space), Half keys, and Shield left half.

    Getting to Rock Lobsters

Pictures coming soon: but general idea - take the normal route to the Kings (you WILL need another person to open the door for you, as well as a rune thrownaxe to spec the blocks), but go right on past their ladder to a ladder farther along, and go up two more levels and your in the room.

    The technique

First off, except for the first time(when you enter the room) ALWAYS wake up the rock lobsters starting in the East.
First you run to the first most eastern one and wake it up, then start running along west and make sure each one wakes up as you go by, then once you've done that, 6/7 should be after you, burst the one that isn't after you (or run next to it) to get it on you, then lure to one of the safe spots.
Safe spot pictures(stand in the blue square, use the red square if 1 or more rock lobster got stuck at another point and you have to lure it without starting over):

    By The Numbers

Data I have collected while at Rock Lobsters.

    1. Bursts per charm (Charm/Bursts) (So for every 4.921 bursts you will (on average) get 1 crimson charm):

    Total: ~1/2.572

    Crimson: ~1/4.921

    Gold: ~1/7.862

    Blue: ~1/208.334

    Green: ~1/18.657

The above data is based upon 2500 ice bursts.

    2. Experience per burst

151.930 experience on average from every burst (this was at 88 mage)

    3. Bursts per hour - ~600

    4. ~92,188 experience/hour (this data was from one hour of work, at a normal pace)

    5. Charms per hour -

    Total - ~233.281

    Crimson - ~121.926

    Gold - ~76.316

    Green - ~32.160

    Blue - ~2.880

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Q: Isn't this a waste of money?
A: If you can afford it, no it's not, but there are more cost effective ways to collect charms, but they are slower.

  • ooh nice guide ben, thanks for this
  • One very nice looking guide Ben smile.gif ty for this

When i find some more time to play and focus on summoning i will definitely try this out!
  • Nice guide, Ben!
Keep up the good work (y)
  • ffs! Just did 4k bursts and realised I should be using a wealth sad.gif Neat guide though, really helped me!
Btw I got another lure spot, I'll upload it in a sec.
  • Ok here's my lure spot:

  • We cant see that Mike tongue.gif

Gud article tho, exactly what i did when i was burstin.
  • yeah..what meg said, don't select the thumbnail one..=\, and yes there is another spot, but I don't like it as much (not sure if it's the one in your picture) because of daggonoths causing problems.
  • Quality wink.gif and much liking the formatting... makes it easy to follow. On a side note it might be useful to include somewhere in the Title or Description of the topic, something about Summoning so that people know what the guide is useful for. Overall I'd say this is top notch, I am very pleased to see the time you put into this. biggrin.gif
  • OK I just came and looked at my guide again and saw Sieg's fixed picture and I'd like to say if that is in the same chamber, you will only have 6 of the lobs on you as one will not come that far.

Edit: added a video of me running from seers to rock lobsters, as well as a new inventory picture.
  • o.o didn't realize you couldn't see it lol, gimme a sec, ill rectify that...

EDIT: oh w8, did Kaare hax it? huh.gif And also, you're right, if you use my spot you lose the lobster to the far right...
  • Also it may be worth noting that the Terrorbird may be a very handy way to get to these guys taking up only 1 invent spot for scrolls rather than 4 for the super energies.
  • I rarely stay for a whole run anyways, so 2 less inventory spots isn't much of a problem
  • Ok I'm going to completely reconstruct this guide w/ different methods, new videos, new layout and the like
  • First of all, good guide. I can't download your video of the journey because I keep downloading it on windows mieda player which isn't showing the picture so where do I download it on? :/
  • Thank you! Your guide has been approved and has been moved to the Guides forum.
