1.0 - Introduction =====================
Hello and welcome to my second guide on summoning. I have recently added part 2 familiars for the guide (sorry it took so long). During this guide i will explain the four different types of charms and their uses. I will also add some tips that i picked up during my summoning journey to and beyond level 99.
1.1 -Charm Droppers ===================
Gold -----
Fire giants Hellhounds Infernal Mages Rock Crabs
Crimson ----- Dust devil Greater demons Nechryael Rock Lobsters (in 2's) Waterfiends
Green ----- Basilisks Bloodveld
Blue ----- Kalphites Most Dragons Gargoyle Wallsalki
1.2 - Starting summoning ========================= To start the new skill summoning you must complete a small quest by speaking to Pikkupstix in a house in Taverley. This quest has no requirements apart from two wolf bones that are used during it. The quest is called "Wolf Whistle" and should not take longer then 15 minutes to complete! Congratz on level 4 summoning when you have finished this quest! As a reward you will receive 275 gold charms that can be used to summon different creatures.
1.3 Recommended items ==================== Before you read ahead and start planning on getting level 99 summoning there are a few items that I suggest you invest in! Firstly whilst you are still in Taverley right click on Pikkupstix and you can purchase some items that are needed to make pouches. You need one pouch per familiar that you plan to summon and a large amount of spirit shards, dependant on which familiar so don’t just click buy 100k because they cost 25 each and you will be unable to get your money back. In section 2 of this guide I will explain how many spirit shards you need to make certain items. Apart from getting those necessary items I suggest that you move your player owned house to Taverley (shown in figure A) after moving your house to Taverley you can easier to the fastest trips. Next I recommend plenty of glory's or Duel rings. These will give you a fast teleport out of the obelisk. You might also want to drink some super energy potions in between trips.
Figure A
At level 57 you can wave bye bye to taverly obelisk. Buy some spirit kyatt pouches from the grand exchange or make some if you wish to. A few duel rings will also be an advantage,as well as your weight loss gear. You may or may not need super energy potions depending on the weight of the secondary ingrediants. The images below show how you should use your spirit kyatt. Please look at all four.
1.4 General costs ================= Before I start telling you what to do for each level I want you to understand the costs. NOTE: THESE COSTS ARE THE COSTS FOR MAKING!!! You can sell alch or summon your pouches to make some of this back.

1.5 Should I make scrolls? ==========================
My answer to this is 10O% NO! ONLY MAKE ENOUGH SCROLLS TO WHAT YOU WILL USE!!! If you make scrolls to 99 you lose around 200m!!!
1.6 What should I do with my pouches? =====================================
Sell them to the ogre at the summoning obelisk and get 70% of the shards used back
The goal of this section is to explain the difference in cost per item/charm to hopefully help you decide what items to make. The example here is a level 70 summoner aiming for level 75. Obviously it will not be feasible to expect them to do one type of charm. However the gap in costs differs as your level increases.
1) 3,967 Bunyip = 436,370 shards, 1 green charm and 3,967 raw sharks
(raw shark 1,096 each) 1,096 * 3,967 = 4,347,832 gp
I will get 150,438 shards back and have an estimated loss of 3,290,840 gp
3290840 / 472794 => 6.96040981907554
6.96 gp loss per pouch, buying bagged plants 1 for 1k each at fally park and shards 25 each.
Conclusion:
These costs will nto be accurate as the Grand exchange prices are changing constantly. Remember they are EXAMPLES. It is also possible to buy shards 22-23 gp each from forums or form buying pouches on the GE and selling to the ogre.
All costs are per 1 exp
Bunyip = 16.11 gp Fruit bat = 8.75 gp Barker toads = 6.33 gp Mithril Minotaur = 4.00 gp Karamthulhu Overlord = 2.47 gp Stranger Plants = 6.69 gp
As a result i do not loot green charms. Best of luck on your summoning adventure!

2.0 FAQ's ===========
Q: I feel you missed something from the guide, can you add this information? A: If I have missed something and you have correct facts then I will be more than happy to add it and give you credit, eh no one is perfect.
Q: Can I add you in game? A: If I do not know you, then no. My friends list is getting on full and if you have something to ask you can contact me in PM on these boards, post a comment or message me in swiftIRC (`Will`)
Q: Why are your calculations all in crimsons? A: Crimsons are the most "efficient" way of training. My calculations will not be 100% correct, of course since no monster drops 100% crimsons!
Thank you for reading this guide! If you have any concerns i will be more than happy to answer you. All feedback is appriciated, whether it is good or bad. Happy skilling!
Great guide given that I'm doing slayer to 65 so I can get crimsons on Dusties- this has confirmed that I'm doing the right thing. Thanks for posting it
I looked at this guide and read it and wondered wtf?? Paddy wrote this???? and I looked at the top and realized it wasn't you -.-. Oh well still a good guide however I've never summoned enough at one time to use the Kyatt method yet. The "Charm efficiency" part of the guide confuses the hell out of me but then again it's 1:30am so I'll look at it again tomorrow.
