For years I hated slaying and I do not profess to be anything like an expert. Recently I have come to love it though, it suits how I play. You can always do other things while you slay, most tasks need very little attention and until you max it works towards many skills, the obvious combat ones, but also herblore as you get loads of herb drops on the way herblore, farming (seed drops) and summoning. There is also all the lovely jubly free stoof you get on the way. I pick up so much stuff as I go and I am often surprised as I look through my bank that I have accumulated 24 lava staffs or 3000 blood runes with out trying.
The recent slayer update has changed how most people slay and Burthorping a task is no longer a viable option due to the penalty incurred. Picking the correct slay master for the right time is a must. You get points for each task depending on the slayer master you use, as long as you complete all the tasks. These points are only collected after the completion of the Smoking Kills Quest.
You also get a bonus at 10 tasks in a row of 10 times the usual number of points. There is a further bonus at 50 points (of 15 times the points).
The points can be traded for prizes!
Slayer helm – has earmuffs, nose peg, face mask, black mask and spiny helmet all in one – costs 400 points for the ability to make (needs 55 craft). 10k Slayer xps - 400 points. Ring of slaying - 75 points 250 slayer dart runes - 35 points 250 Broad arrows 35 points 250 Broad Bolts - 35 points Ability to make broad arrows and bolts- 300 points Ability to make ring of slaying - 300 points (needs 75 craft) Changing 1 assignment 30 points (there is a possibility you will be immediately reassigned this task). Removing and assignment from your list - 100 points. The number you can ignore depends on the number of quest points you have: 50 quest points allows you to remove one task. 100 quest points allows you to remove up to two tasks. 150 quest points allows you to remove up to three tasks. 200 quest points allows you to remove up four tasks.
What to take
Use stat boosting pots wherever, whenever and as often as you can. Never forget to think about how you will leave in a hurry, a home tele is always my preferred option as you can restore pray for free too.
Essential gear:
Guthans – It will save you many gp’s in food on the way and a lot of time killing instead of banking. Its use has been overtaken though now by bunyips and unicorns in many cases. Pray boosting armour – I use Bandos but Proselyte works better. Home teletabs! Alching runes and stat boosting pots. Ring of wealth and combat bracelet (tells you how many you have left every 10 kills) A Khayll portal, alter and armour repair stand in your house. Karamja gloves3 – to get to Shilo fast (I prefer not to use Lunars because I alch lots as I go and don’t have the mage level to switch spells) Black mask or slayer helmet – boosts attack and strength by 15% when on task. Dragon Slayer gloves -anything that boosts xps is a must! Cannon and cannonballs – these be hawt! The cannon decays after 25 minutes (after a message at 20 minutes saying it is almost decayed) pick it up and replace it when you see this. Using the cannon is expensive but gives approximately 24k range xps an hour. Slayer ring -Teleports to the Slayer Tower in Morytania, Slayer Dungeon in Relekka, Pollnivneach, and The Lair of Tarn Razlor. (after defeating Tarn in the miniquest) The ring has 8 charges, after all are consumed the ring will shatter. Armour – there are way too many possible combinations here. I like Bandos armour for melee with my trusty whip and DFS, God hides for ranging with ranger set and a crystal bow or cross bow and Ava’s accumulator. I have found mage too expensive to use for slay combat.
Starting and finishing tasks
I take a home tele tab and always restore my prayer after each task. Then edge tele then go get my task. Bank as fast as possible then get to the next task. If you use NPC contact spell it would be better to bank in Canifis, so tele there instead as so many of the tasks nearby.
Healing during tasks.
Ideally you will try to do each task without banking so healing whilst on the task is important. Of course the best way is to not get hit so much in the first place so if you are struggling to complete tasks without banking try to invest in armour that improves defence – such as the DFS and Bandos.
Bunyips and Unicorns – the Bunyip heals 2 hitpoints every 15 seconds, a massive 480 hitpoints an hour. This is enough to keep you going on many tasks. The unicorn is even better healing 15% of your hitpoint level for each scroll used. With 99 HP this works out as 14 hitpoints each time and up to 1260 hitpoints an hour.
Guthans – the familiars may make Guthans a little obsolete. It is however very useful and the special heals you on about 1 in 8 hits to the value you hit. The stats are not great though, I tend to take my guthans and swap in a mask, whip and DFS until I need to heal.
Food- cheap and easy but takes up valuable inventory. Monkfish heal 16 and are pretty cheap, I prefer to heal with other methods and only take food for easier tasks.
Bones to Peaches – buy the tabs on the GE or make after you have unlocked the spell at the Mage training Arena. Each peach heals 8 hitpoints, each tab can convert 8 bones. The tabs stack so useful if space is an issue.
Saradomin Brews – need to be used with restore potions so useful but expensive. Use three sips of brew followed by one sip of restore for maximum benefit.
Saradomin God Sword – The special heals 50% of what you hit and restores 25% of that hit as prayer too. I am told you can use the special about once every 3 minutes. Works great but I have found it is often not enough alone to heal, good in conjunction with bunyips for the free prayer boosts.
Rapid heal spell – I only use this if I have an excess of prayer and am running low on food. Its useful though as it heals 60 hitpoints per hour and uses very little prayer.
What to pick up and what to leave
This is a personal thing, for efficiency try not to bank during tasks unless it is very easy to do so. I only bank doing Aberrant Spectres, as the herb drops I find hard to leave and it takes approximately 2 minutes to bank.
I almost always have alchs on me, especially for tasks with lots of rune drops, such as Abbyssal Demons, Nechs, Black Demons, Metal dragons.
Picking up all of the drops slow down slaying hugely. Try to always begin the next kills before the drop shows, then go back if it is worth it only. I have stopped collecting coin drops, I found it slowed me too much and is almost never worth the effort.
Summoning
Slayer is fantastic for collecting charms and a huge bonus to slaying. The familiars are also very useful for slay in return. The unicorn and bunyips are fantastic for slayer and healing as mentioned already. Beast of Burden (the terrorbird and war tortoise) are useful for collecting dragon bones, though for a long task you may need multiple pouches and a summoning potion. The Titan+ fighters, such as the Hydra give extra xps and the combination, where possible, of these plus the cannon plus me makes for very fast tasks.
Choosing a slay master.
Tureal used to be a much visited master but no longer since swapping tasks is not for the serious slayer since the points update. He is in Burthorpe and requires level 3 combat.
Mazchna, requires level 20 combat, located just north east of the Canfis bank. Still not really the one to choose for most players.
Vannaka, requires 40 combat and is in the Edgeville Dungeons. Again I have not focused on this master.
Chaelder, requires 70 combat and located south of the entrance to the Lost City.
Sumona – requires 85 combat and 35 slayer, located in Pollnivneach (after completing Smoking Kills quest) all tasks are 120 -185 unless stated.
Aberrant spectres Abyssal demons Banshees Basilisks Black demons Blue dragons Bloodvelds Cave crawlers Cave horrors Dagannoths Dust devils Elves Fire giants Gargoyles Greater demons Hellhounds Iron dragons (30-60) Kalphites Kurask Nechryael Red-dragons (30-60) Scabarite minions (30-60) Spiritual mages Spiritual warriors Terror dogs (30-60) Trolls Turoth
Duradel requires 100 combat and 50 slayer, he is located in Shilo above the fishing shop. All tasks are 130-200 unless stated Aberrant spectres Abyssal demons Black demons Black dragons (60 – 90) Bloodvelds Dagannoths Dark beasts Dust devils Fire giants Gargoyles Goraks (25 – 50) Greater demons Hellhounds Iron dragons (60-90) Kalphites Mithril Dragons (4 – 8 ) Nechryael Scabarite minions Skeletal wyverns (60 – 90) Spiritual mages Steel dragons (60 – 90) Suqahs (60 – 90) Warped Terrorbirds Waterfiends
Monsters from the highest slay masters.
Aberrant spectres – slayer tower and Pollniveach Well
A great task but often busy. They drop loads of good herbs, as well as lava battlestaffs mystic bottoms and rune full helms. I bank the expensive herbs on this task and pray mage throughout. Wear prayer boosting armour as you will need to pray throughout. Don’t forget – prayer potions and nose peg or you will suffer a painful death! Once you have the slayer mask you can kill these in the Pollniveach Well ( not before as you need the face mask and nose peg) – use the Slayer Ring and climb into the well – head north then through the south –east barrier. Find a good cannon spot and pray mage so you can also have a fighting familiar busy here. This is a very fast task for xps (with the cannon) and again banking is fast.
Abyssal demons – Slayer Tower alternatively near Fairy Ring Code - ALR
I love love this task, with 99 defence all I need are 2 or bunyips (about 1 per 70 kills) and some super sets. They drop loads of goodies, and rarely the whip (1 in 400 kills). Shockingly easy tbh, requires very little attention other than to pick up the goods. Take alchs for all the rune drops (and a nose peg to get in unless you have 71 agility, or a slay helm) Don’t forget – alching runes
Banshees – Slayer Tower or Desert Slayer Dungeon
Fast easy task with nice drops for a low level creatures, lots of noted pure ess. Earmuffs or the slayer helm are essential or your stats will fail fast. I range them so to save running about. Don’t forget –ear muffs of slayer helm.
Basillisks – Slayer Dungeon – fairy ring AJR or Desert Slayer Dungeon
You need to have a mirrored shield equipped. This is a nice, easy task as they hit little and have reasonable drops. You need to range or melee with a one handed weapon because of the shield.
Black Demons – Chaos dungeons, Taverly Dungeon and Edgeville Dungeon.
Woot! These are very fast xps and the ones in the chaos tunnels are not only empty usually but easy to get to and drops loads of crimson charms. The Taverly Dungeon ones have been updated and now drops as many charms and are cannonable so even faster! Take pray-boosting armour, a pure super set or 2, alching runes and 10 or so pray pots, pray melee.
Black Dragons – Lost City behind the alter with the egg in front in the North east Corner
Nice task but much busier since the update uncreased the numbers killed per task. It pays well in black hides and dragon bones but is slow slaying xp. Bank nearby in the Lost City (don’t forget a new raw chicken each time). These now drop charms in 3’s. Don’t forget your raw chicken to get in and anti-fire pots. Alternatively for a fast task kill the baby dragons in the chaos tunnels.
Bloodvelds – Slayer Tower so Khayll tele or try the mutated ones in the Meiyerditch dungeon (get in via the blood alter then out through the portal and run south). There are some in the Godwars dungeons if it’s really busy (see below).
Great to range or melee. Fast xps and they drops a fair amount of red and green charms. They drop blood runes too but not enough to get excited about. I take a couple of bunyips (and a p pot to pray melee if my health gets low before I get a food drop) if I am meleeing, for range you don’t need anything as they are easy to safe spot. There are 3 bloodveld spawns in the north east corner of the GWD (take a sara and zammy item). These are very easy to safespot over the rock piles and I have never seen anyone else there. The fastest xps are in the Meiyerditch dungeon, take a cannon, pray melee and employ a fighting familiar. You will be skulled at first so be very careful not to let prayer drop. Don’t forget – Zammy and Sara item if you go to the Gwd.
Blue Dragons – Taverly Dungeon off peak or the Gu’Tanoth caves if busy. Nice xp’s for range and they drop dragon bones and blue hides so are very profitable too. If you have 70 agility you can bank from Taverly quickly, other wise bank in Castle Wars (or Watchtower tele then Yanille) for the Gu’Tanoth Dungeon. A Beast of Burden will reduce banking nicely. Don’t forget – antifire shield or DFS. Tele’s to bank regularly.
Brine Rats – fairy ring code DKS then dig with a spade
Again these are one of my favorite tasks. Melee them for very fast kills. They drop loads of deaths and noted raw fish.
Bronze dragons – Brimhaven Dungeons or Chaos tunnels.
Kill in the same way as Iron dragons. Use an antifire shield, anti fire pots and melee with protect from melee pray or range or mage from further away.
Cave Crawlers – Slayer Dungeon – fairy ring AJR or Desert Slayer Dungeon or in Lumbridge Swamp Dungeon.
Another fast easy task. These drop lots of herblore seconds. For extra xps (after you have the slay helm) try the ones in the Desert Slay Dungeon, this is multi combat so they can be cannoned. Don’t forget – anti poison!
Cave Horrors – Mos Le’Harmless – talk to Bill teach on the docks at Port Phasmatys for a boat ride there.
You need a Witchwood Icon to protect from these. Slow to train on but if you are really lucky they will drop a Black mask, they drop noted teak and mahogany logs too. Can be cannoned but they are fairly spread out. Don't forget - Witchwood Icon, light source and tinderbox.
Crawling hands –Slayer tower You can either take the easy option and kill these in the slayer tower or for more xp’s kill Skeletal or Zombie hands. I like the easy option – and range these to save running about too much.
Daggonaths – tele to Barbarian Assault then over the stepping stones to the lighthouse or Chaos Tunnels.
Woot Daggs! Maybe the fastest xps? Go to the basement of the Lighthouse and set up your cannon, I use guthans or a bunyip. They are killed so fast you have trouble keeping up with the drops, watch out for hiding seeds as these drop snapdragon seeds not infrequently.
Dark Beasts – under West Ardougne. Go to the Mourners Hq wearing full mourners gear (and nothing else) and use a New Key (found on the desk in the head mourner’s room) to unlock the door in the basement.
Melee using protect from Melee as they hit high. They drop death talisman and the dark bow (or 5!) if you are very lucky. I take a Beast of Burden or 3 depending on the size of the task. You will need more prayer potions than you can carry. The dark beasts are aggressive and this task takes a long time – so pull up a movie and watch for the bows. They can be cannoned for faster kills but this then needs a careful inventory and some food or a bunyip as you will get hit by the mage attack.
Dust Devils – Smokey Well or Chaos Tunnels
Use melee gear but with a face mask/slayer helm (even in the chaos tunnels). They drop Ugathanki kebabs which heal 19, I find a few monks keeps me going here with Bones to Peaches in case I run low. These drop Dragon Chains to the very lucky (1 in 10k I am told!).
Elves – Elf Crystal Teleport to Lletya.
Easy to get to the elf warriors with the crystal, there is an alter upstairs so use kill them there and max out the prayers.
Fever Spiders – Basement of the Brewery on Braindeath Island.
Easy task again for melee or range. You need to have the Slayer Gloves equipped or you will be diseased. To get there use the ectophial then go to the dock to the north east, chat to Pirate Pete and you will be knocked out and arrive on Braindeath. Don’t forget – Slayer gloves.
These can be cannoned in the Waterfall Dungeon (tele to Barbarian Assault then take the raft just south of there and go in though the waterfall). This can be busy however so I tend to use Brimhaven (great when you are 127+ and the wild dogs ignore you). Reasonable xps and an easy task. Don’t forget – Glarial’s amulet and a rope for the waterfall dungeon. Axe and gp’s fpr Brimhaven.
Gargoyles – Slayer Tower or Chaos Tunnels.
Melee them and finish them with a Rock Hammer. I find a bunyip alone is not enough to keep me alive, so bring guthans here or food too ( the bunyip and SGS is enough however or unicorn). Remember if you lag out they will keep on slapping you so be careful what you take if your connection is not so reliable. The chaos tunnels are easy as from the level 4 entrance just NW of the Edgeville bank it’s the 1st room you enter. The new animation on these makes them a pain to attack for the 1st time and later with the hammer, I had to resort to a right click. Don’t forget – rock hammer and nose peg if <71 agility and using the slayer mansion.
Gorak – fairy ring DIR or the God Wars Dungeon (head north- north east).
Protection pray does not work and it drains stats so bring rests. These will need food as they hit high so Guthans may not be enough. Cannonable for fast kills this is a nice quick task. Don’t forget Zammy and Sara item if you head to GWD.
Greater Demons – Brimhaven Dungeon or Ogre Enclave in the Ogre city of Gu'tanoth, level 45 Wilderness at the Demon Ruins.
Another great task if you are 127+ and the wild dogs ignore you. A couple of Bunyips are enough health wise. These drop a nice amount or crimson charms. Don’t forget – axe, gp’s to get in.
Harpy Bug Swarms – on Karamja – south west of Brimhaven.
Hit ‘em fast get ‘em done and move on. You need a Lit bug lantern equipped. Don’t forget – Bug Lantern.
Hellhounds – Taverly Dungeon, Family Crest Dungeon, GWD, or in deep Wilderness just south of the axe hut.
Boring task with poor drops if you are not interested in clues, some charms too. Good xps though and again Bunyip’s are enough for the healing, so max your attack and slap hard! These can be cannoned in Taverly. If it is really busy try the North East section of GWD and take a Sara and Zammy item. Don’t forget………….erm nothing special really!
Infernal Mage – Slayer tower or Chaos Tunnels.
Wear armour with a good mage defence such as dragon hides. I range or melee these, they are slow and boring with mediocre drops.
Iron and Steel Dragons – Brimhaven Dungeon
I melee or range depending on my mood and the speed I want the slay xp’s, I find I get bothered by noobs less if I go all the way to the south east corner of the caves (and there are no steels about there either). Takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to melee 54, and this is less than 10k xp, I did net 250k on this trip in alchable drops, which kind of makes up for it, and there is always the vague hope of a visage drop. I have been using the Dragon slayer gloves I got from Fist of Guthix as they increase the slayer xp’s by 15% and the attack xp by 10%, but I am not sure I will get them again as the extra bonus from Barrows gloves may make this obsolete. Use piety if you can. For the larger tasks you are going to need a Beast of Burden or be prepared to bank. The antifire potions last approximately 5 minutes each dose and so you get 20 minutes per potion. If you are killing 40 an hour a 120 dragon task is going to need 9. Obviously if you kill faster you will need less! Steels are going to be a huge problem, these were overly busy when tasks were 10-20 but with slayers unable to swap these out and needing to kill so many it is going to be virtually impossible to find any to kill without an update of some kind. Don’t forget a cheap axe (to drop), the gp’s to get in and antifire pots and shield.
Jellies – Slayer Dungeon, Chaos Tunnels
There are loads of these in the slayer dungeon so you can click - kill - click - kill pretty fast. They have a mage based melee attack so wear hides or Kahrils and take a bunyip.
Kalphite –fairy ring BIQ Kalphite Lair
Boring, with bad drops but super fast. These need very little attention. Good blue charms droppers. One of the few tasks that does not pay its way. I take a canon (and use about 600 cannonballs per 160), fighting familiar and Guthans or some food, anti poison (3 pots of super anti should be enough) and a rope. Keris++ works well here too. Don’t forget – anti poison and the rope.
Kurask – fairy ring AJR or Desert Slayer Dungeon.
Ew, ew and ew. I tried using slayer dart on these and it took 1k deaths to kill 60 of them, which is not much use. I swapped to a leaf bladed spear (31k from the slay masters). This was slow but worked. They drops include some bananas, I found these plus good defensive gear plus a bunyip kept me going here.
Lesser Demons – under the Karamja Volcano, Crandor Isle, Temple of Ikov, Blue Wizard Tower (caged), Wilderness (west of the Lava Maze), Taverly Dungeon before the Blue dragons or Melzar's Maze
Very easy task, Guthan’s or a Bunyip will be plenty to keep you alive. They can drop champion scrolls.
Mithril Dragons (level 304) – Ancient Cavern – upstairs – tele to Barbarian Assault then head south – jump into the whirlpool. Pot a super set and antifire potion and put on mage protect prayer, then head down the stairs. Run past the Green Brutal Dragons and go up the stairs to the south east. Switch on protect from melee. These are def nubs! They attack with range, magic, and melee. Range –use protect from range pray and wear Karil's. You are then away from the melee attack, safe from the range and have good mage defence bonus. Using a rune crossbow with good bolts and the Ava’s accumulator. With good range and bolts you should be able to complete the task in one run. Melee - Use protect from melee prayer and wear Karil’s or use mage protection and wear Torags. Take plenty of food. Pot to max strength, attack and defence, these are weak to crush attacks and immune to poison. As you are close the range attack will not operate. Wear high mage protection gear and expect to kill 3-6 per run. Switch auto retaliate off so that you have time to collect the drops before beginning another fight Don’t forget – antifire shield and pots, and your best gear, a tele out Awesome guide to Mith Hunting here -http://www.truthscape.com/html/ts_TruthScapeMonsterSecretsMithrilDragonGuide.htm
Mutated Zygomites - Lost City
This is another slow slow task. You need to use fungicide spray (and take refills) which can be bought from the slay masters, to kill them. Bad drops too.
Nechryael - Slayer Tower and Chaos Tunnels.
Ugly nubs! Not the most exciting task but again an easy one. Best killed in the Chaos Tunnels as they are much closer together. I use Guthans and swap in my slayer mask and whip as I can, or good defensive gear, a bunyip and an SGS is enough (with a p pot incase you get low). Completely ignore the death spawn as they disappear after a little while and hit next to nothing. There is a range safe spot behind the table in the north-east corner of the room in the slayer tower. These are good crimson charm droppers (about 50 per task) and deaths (maybe 200 a task).
They can also be chinned or barraged in the chaos tunnels, fast xps but expensive.
Remember to take – super set and a nose peg unless you have 71 agility for the slay tower. I also pot a dose of antifire before I leave for the Chaos Tunnels.
Red Dragons -Red Dragon Isle in the Wilderness but use Brimhaven Dungeon. Like all the dragons you will need an anti-fire shield and pots. Range from a distance or melee with protect from melee pray on. A Beast of Burden will help with collecting hides and bones. Don’t forget – axe and gp’s to enter dungeon, anti-fire protection.
Scarabites Sophanem Dungeon – sceptre teleport to Pyramid Plunder.
I have had to bite the bullet and do these. They can be cannoned and drop loads of crimson charms. I meleed and used protect from melee (or range as needed), so pray boosting gear. Go down the ladder inside the bank (under the building in the NE of Sophanem) and head west. Look out for and disable the traps, then head down the ladder with mage protect pray on (you will get hit hard here so be ready to eat), go south then northwest and up another ladder. Again look out for traps, head south and go down the ladder. Kill the Locust Riders staying close to the ladder and away from the mages. Pray melee (or use a bunyip if you have good defence) and watch out for the rangers which can hit hard (move back behind the ladder if you are getting hit). Maybe bring a range weapon (or cannon) to lure the riders into the corner and take auto retaliate off as you do not want to get pulled out into the open cavern. If you fall in a pit on the way in you end up where you need to be, just go south a little. Stay away form the mages and melee the others. Edit – I have been trying the cannon here and it is amazing! Great fast kills. Don’t forget – lamp and tinderbox, good fast food for the way in, teletab.
Shadow Warriors – Basement of the Legend’s Guild.
Nice task – easy to get to, the are cannonable and good to melee.
Skeletal Wyverns Ice Caverns south of Port Sarim – near Thurgo.
These can drop dragon med helm, spear, daggers or even visages, lots of crimsons too. Melee pray too. Don't forget - you need an elemental shield, mind shield or DFS (not anti-dragon shield) equipped to fight these.
Spiritual Warriors and Mages – GWD –tele to Trollheim and head into the dungeon.
These can take a while and I have not worked out the correlation between kill count here and slayer count. The warriors drop lots of alchable goodies. If it is nice and quiet I hit all of the mage’s and warriors once each too then wait and collect their drops. I take Bunyips but generally you can avoid being hit completely if careful. Mages drop Dragon Booties about 1 in 100 kills. Don’t forget a zammy and sara item and a super restore pot (your slayer level will be reduced as you enter), and alchs. Update: I now kill the mages by the Zammy Boss door. Pray mage all the time and use a fighting familiar. This make for fast kills and you get the slay xps for almost all of the kills.
Steel Dragons - see Iron Dragons
Suqah - Moonclan Island – lunar tele or fairy ring to Miscellania then off the island and back onto Moonclan.
Usually small tasks – 60-90 and quick. They do now drop some (very few) charms. Keep some of the teeth they drop as a garden payment for spirit trees. I melee with good defensive gear and stand where there are 2 of them (just west of the astral altar) – the Bunyip does his job nicely. These can also be cannoned, use a fast spawn world if you are taking one along.
Terrordogs – Tarn’s Lair Not the easiest of place to get to (without the slay ring) – tele to Canfis then go through the Myreque shortcut to Burgh de Rott. Use agility short cut from Burgh de Rott to haunted Mine area. You need Salve Amulet to enter. Climb over the mine cart, enter the mine then head north to the lair, dogs are at the end. Horrible! They can’t even be cannoned. These can drop Granite helm’s. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle...article_id=2929
Trolls – try the Death Plateau just NW of the game’s room or Trollheim.
Axeman Jack recommends a canon spot in his guide, not something I have tried. Easy to get too, easy to kill. Take alch’s for the drops and wear good defence.
Turoth – fairy ring AJR or Desert Slayer Dungeon., or the Chaos Tunnels.
Slow xp as you need to use a Leaf Bladed Spear or something similar. A bunyip is almost enough to keep you full health as they rarely hit anything. They drop some herbs, seeds, laws, nats and mystic bottoms plus green and crimson charms. Don’t forget – special weapon.
Warped Terrorbirds – spirit tree teleport to the mountains east of the poisonous whatever!
These can be meleed and cannoned (best to go a little into the dungeon). They will all need to be ‘chimed’ as they spawn to cannon though. Pray range protection so take a bunch of p pots, you can bank easily at the GE using the spirit tree. Best added to your ignore list really. Don’t forget – crystal chimes
Warped tortoises – spirit tree teleport to the mountains east of the poisonous whatever!
You need the crystal charms to make the tortoises attackable and this puts many people off this task. It is one of my favourites. They drop noted ores, and the valuable tortoise shells (leave the ‘perfect’ ones they are useless). Banking is easy at the ge and these are usually quiet, you need very little food as they barely hit anything at all (I just take a few monks and they drop toad legs – yummy!). Don’t forget – crystal chimes
Waterfiends – The Ancient Cavern (BA games necklace tele then head south and leap into the whirl pool, pray mage, and possibly take an antifire shield to pass the dragons, enter the cavern then head west) or the Chaos Tunnels.
They have a mage and range attack. Wear mage defence and protect from range. Use a crush attack weapon, such as a Zamorak Spear, flail, Godsword or dragon battle axe. These became popular because they drop an abundance of Crimson Charms. Don’t forget – Unicorn or Bunyip with Swallow Whole scrolls, alching runes, p pots.
OK - I worked loads on this but it is no where near finished since the range of monsters increased. I was planning to slay and add details as I went but that is going to take weeks.
I decided to post this and let all the real experts (thats you lot) post so we can finish this together.
If you see anything I missed, got horribly wrong, overlooked, or can add details on the missing parts please post and I will change this on the way. You will obviously get credit for this and we can work on this as a group.
pretty cool guide little small tweeks to be worked with but it's still good. honestly; i think you could have saved yourself the work and checked the ownage guide AMJ [Axe Man Jack] has on RSC.
Guardian I have used AxemanJack's guide loads and it is fantastic (I link to it in mine) - but he has not been updating it so many of the slayer monsters are missing or the info outdated. I also think he is wrong about some of the God Wars Dungeon stuff. That's only my opinion though.
I really enjoyed doing this - it made me (and continues to make me) think about how I am doing things and try new things out. My slayer group were looking for someone to write a guide so it's there too.
Let me know about the tweeks you have spotted and I will sort them.
I'm not sure about Sumona though. The KB states that you need 100 combat and 50+ slayer to use her, but I got a few tasks from her, and as you know, I'm a nubby 94 lol. Plus the in-game slayer guide says you only need 35 slayer for her.
